Premium fully casstetted
folding arm
awning.
Heavy-duty construction, widths up to 12 metres, and the choice of manual or motorised operation. The Armony Plus covers more ground — and more years of use — than most awnings on the market.

How it works
Articulated arms, closed cassette, adjustable pitch.
The Armony Plus uses a pair of spring-tensioned articulated arms that fold flat against a wall-mounted aluminium cassette when the awning is retracted. When you extend it — by hand with a crank, or by pressing a button on the motorised model — the arms unfold and the fabric rolls out to your chosen projection depth.
The pitch of the front bar is adjustable, so you can angle the fabric slightly downward to channel rainwater away from the opening rather than letting it pool. When retracted, the cassette wraps completely around the fabric, protecting it from rain, bird mess, and UV degradation in between uses.
Closed cassette — fabric stays protected
Unlike open-roll awnings, everything retracts inside the housing. Fabric stays dry, clean, and UV-protected when the awning isn't in use — which makes a significant difference to how long it lasts in UK conditions.
Manual or motorised — your call
The standard manual model uses a simple crank handle — nothing to service, nothing to power. The motorised version uses a Somfy tubular motor with radio remote, and can be upgraded with smart home integration at any point.
Optional integrated LED arms
The LED arm upgrade fits discreet lighting inside the awning arms themselves — no exposed cables, no bolt-on fittings. It runs off a low-voltage transformer and extends practical use of the space into the evening without separate garden lighting.
Why the Armony Plus
Built for the jobs lighter awnings can't handle.
Heavy use, large spans, commercial-grade exposure. The Armony Plus is where you go when a standard residential awning won't be enough.
Heavy-duty aluminium construction
The Armony Plus frame and arms are reinforced to handle the structural loads that come with very wide spans and daily commercial use. It's rated for both residential and commercial settings — not just labelled for them.
Widths from 2,120mm to 12,000mm
The minimum covers a standard bi-fold door opening. The 12-metre maximum covers large commercial terraces in a single span — no breaking the run into multiple units with unsightly joins in the middle.
Integrated LED arm option
The LED arms fit inside the awning structure — not clipped on afterwards. Evening light that looks intentional rather than improvised, with no trailing cables along the wall.
Flexible projection depths
Projection range varies by width and configuration — your surveyor will confirm what's achievable for your specific opening. Pitch is adjustable at the front bar so you can angle rain off rather than letting it sit in the fabric.
Manual or motorised operation
Manual suits locations where power isn't available or the awning doesn't get heavy use. Motorised Somfy models can be paired with wind sensors for automatic retraction, and with the TaHoma bridge for smart home and voice control.
Closed cassette protects the fabric
When retracted, the fabric and roller sit fully enclosed inside the aluminium cassette. In UK weather this is the difference between a fabric that lasts five years and one that lasts fifteen or more.
Operation & control
Choose how you operate it.
From a simple crank handle to full smart home integration — the Armony Plus accommodates whatever level of control makes sense for your situation. Motorised models can be upgraded at any time via Somfy's ecosystem.
Manual winding
A standard crank handle drives the cassette directly — turn to extend, turn back to retract. No power supply, no motor, nothing to go wrong. A practical choice for locations without nearby power or where the awning gets occasional rather than daily use.
Motorised with remote
A Somfy tubular motor sits inside the cassette, operated by a 5-channel radio remote. Press and hold to extend to your preset stop position. Optional Somfy wind sensor available — it detects sustained gusts and retracts automatically, useful for commercial sites left unattended.
Smart home & voice control
Somfy's TaHoma bridge connects motorised models to Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. Control by voice, set schedules, or automate based on sun position. The TaHoma bridge is available as an optional extra — ask at your survey.
Fabric options
Fabrics made for outdoor use.
Awning fabrics take direct sun, rain, and general exposure day after day. All fabrics on the Armony Plus are solution-dyed acrylic — the colour is built into the fibre rather than applied to the surface, so they don't fade the way coated or printed alternatives do over time.
- PopularClassic Stripe
Traditional awning stripe in neutral tones — works with most property styles and ages gracefully. Solution-dyed acrylic with UV inhibitors, typically holding colour for ten or more years of regular use.
- Contemporary
Plain Woven
Single-colour fabric for a clean, modern look that suits flat-roof extensions and bi-fold door openings well. Available across a wide colour range including whites, greys, greens, and dark neutrals.
- UPF 50+
High-density Weave
A tighter weave that blocks more UV — rated UPF 50+ in most colourways. Slightly heavier fabric. Recommended for south-facing installations where the awning takes direct sun throughout the day.
- Statement
Patterned
Geometric and botanical patterns for installations where the awning is part of the visual look, not just a shade solution. Patterns are woven in rather than printed on — resistant to fading and surface wear.
Frame colours
Three standard finishes.
The Armony Plus cassette, arms, and front bar are available in White (RAL 9010), Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), and Black (RAL 9005). All are powder-coated aluminium — rust-proof, low maintenance, and UV stable.

Best suited to
Where the Armony Plus does its best work.
Wide spans, high-frequency use, and outdoor spaces that need to be genuinely usable — not just occasionally shaded.
- 01
Large residential patios
Spans up to 12 metres cover wide patio areas and garden rooms without breaking the run into multiple units. Single cassette, single clean line across the back of the property.
- 02
Restaurant and café terraces
Commercial-rated construction handles the daily open-and-close cycle of a working hospitality venue. Motorised models can be set to auto-retract in high winds via the Somfy wind sensor — useful when staff aren't always watching the weather.
- 03
Bi-fold and patio door openings
The 2,120mm minimum width fits standard bi-fold openings cleanly. Motorised models integrate naturally here — extend the awning at the same time you open the doors, retract when closing up for the evening.
- 04
Garden rooms and extensions
Shading south-facing glass reduces solar gain significantly during summer months. An external awning of this size is considerably more effective at keeping a glass extension cool than internal blinds on their own.
- 05
Hotel and leisure facilities
Pool terraces, outdoor dining areas, and event spaces benefit from commercial-spec construction and optional motorisation. The Armony Plus tolerates sustained daily use across full seasons without the maintenance issues that affect lighter models.
- 06
Evening outdoor entertaining
The optional LED arm upgrade makes the Armony Plus useful after dark — warm, even illumination under the canopy without needing separate garden lighting on posts or walls. Particularly effective on wider spans where a single overhead light source doesn't reach evenly.

What customers say
Fitted across the North East and North West.
"We chose the motorised Armony Plus with the LED arm option for our rear extension — about 5.5 metres wide. The difference on a sunny afternoon is remarkable. It keeps the whole kitchen cool without having to pull the internal blinds. The LED in the evening is a nice bonus too."
"We run a café with covered outdoor seating and this awning has been running every single day for two full seasons without any issues. The heavy-duty construction is obvious the moment you see it up close — completely different feel to the lightweight units we had before."
"Went for the manual version — we didn't need motorisation for ours and it's perfectly easy to use. Anthracite frame looks great against the stone on the house. The cassette keeps everything tidy and protected when it's closed up, which is what sold us on this model over the cheaper options."
Common questions
What people ask us about the Armony Plus.
Any question not covered here? Call us or book a free home survey — our surveyor will run through everything relevant to your specific opening and property.
What projection depths are available on the Armony Plus?
Projection depth on the Armony Plus depends on the width you order and the arm configuration — as a guide, typical projections range from around 1.5m to 3.5m. The exact options available for your specific opening will be confirmed at the free home survey, where our surveyor will measure up and advise on what's structurally achievable for your wall type and door configuration.
What is the minimum and maximum width available?
The Armony Plus is made to measure between 2,120mm and 12,000mm wide. The minimum suits a single standard bi-fold or patio door opening; the 12-metre maximum covers very large commercial and residential terraces in one continuous cassette. All widths are cut to your exact measurement — there's no rounding to the nearest standard size.
Is the Armony Plus suitable for commercial use?
Yes — it's specifically rated for commercial applications. The reinforced frame and articulated arms are designed to handle the daily open-and-close cycle of a working venue. We fit the Armony Plus for restaurants, hotel terraces, and commercial leisure facilities across the North East and North West. We'd recommend the motorised version for commercial use given the frequency of operation, and the wind sensor option for sites that are sometimes left unattended.
Can I add a wind sensor to the motorised version?
Yes. Motorised Armony Plus models are compatible with Somfy's wind sensor, which detects sustained wind speed above a set threshold and automatically retracts the awning. The sensor is an optional extra available at the time of order. It can be retrofitted to an existing motorised model but it's easier and neater to specify it upfront — ask at the survey if you'd like it included.
Can I upgrade to smart home control later if I start with just a remote?
Yes, if your model has a Somfy motor. The Somfy TaHoma bridge connects compatible motors to Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa via your home wi-fi. You purchase the bridge separately and pair it yourself — no engineer visit or re-wiring needed. Mention this at survey so we can confirm the specific motor being fitted is TaHoma-compatible.
Does the LED arm option work on manual models as well as motorised?
Yes. The LED arms are available as an option on both manual and motorised Armony Plus models. They run from a separate low-voltage transformer — the awning motor (if fitted) and the LED circuit are completely independent. Cabling is routed internally through the cassette and arms during installation. It isn't straightforward to add after fitting, so let us know at survey stage if you'd like this included.
How should I maintain the Armony Plus over time?
The aluminium cassette and arms need very little — wipe down with a damp cloth once or twice a year to prevent grime build-up in the joints. For the fabric, use a soft brush and mild soapy water when dirty; avoid pressure washers, which can damage the weave structure. The most important habit is retracting the awning in strong winds and during prolonged heavy rain. The cassette protects the fabric when it's not in use, which has a significant effect on long-term fabric life.
Will the awning reduce heat inside my glass extension as well as shading outside?
Yes, meaningfully. An awning extended over a south-facing opening intercepts solar radiation before it reaches the glass, which significantly reduces the heat that passes through into the room — typically by 70–80% compared to unshaded glass in direct sun. An external awning of this size is considerably more effective at reducing indoor temperature than internal blinds, which absorb heat that's already entered the room. It won't block heat from other angles, but for a south or south-west facing extension it makes a real practical difference.
